A Japan Rail Pass is not likely to pay off.
Have you confirmed that you cannot choose Kansai International Airport [KIX] in Osaka Prefecture?

If you hope to make a Takayama trip, it sounds better
(A) to stay in Takayama after Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route and tour the city on the following day
or
(B) to travel from Nagoya to Takayama + tour the city + head to Toyama on one day and go on Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route from Dentetsu-Toyama Station on the following day.

According to timetables
: In the option (A), you will need to finish Alpine Route Dentetsu-Toyama Station by 16:30 in order to take JR trains from Toyama to Takayama on the same day.
: In the option (B), if you take the last connection during 4 - 30 November 2014, you will finish Alpine Route at Shinano-Omachi bus stop at 17:35.

Your JR cost for major legs (not including trips inside Kyoto City / Osaka City) is estimated at around 24000 yen per adult.
Transportations on Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route are operated by non-JR companies, and a one-way cost is 10850 yen per adult.
Accesses between Central Japan International Airport [Centrair, NGO] and Nagoya City are offered by Meitetsu [Nagoya Railroad], and a cost on a roundtrip to Meitetsu-Nagoya Station is 1740 yen per adult if you do not take an airport Ltd. Express (Mu Sky).

You might hope to visit also Kanazawa. It requires about 1 hour per way to travel by a JR Local train between Toyama and Kanazawa.

If do not mind traveling Nagoya -- Kyoto -- Osaka -- Nagoya more slowly by Kintetsu (than by JR),
you can save the transportation cost by about 6500 yen per adult by utilizing a Kintetsu Rail Pass wide (sold at 5700 yen, with no child-rate edition).
This Kintetsu pass comes with airport access tickets, among which you can choose two tickets, one for the way from Centrair to Nagoya City by Meitetsu or the way from KIX to Osaka City (Namba Station) by Nankai, and another for the way to the same or the other airport by Meitetsu or Nankai; these tickets do not cover additional charges on airport Ltd. Express services.
