We 2 intend to go apline route the next day. So wonder whether to stay in Toyama or near Tateyama station. Any suggestion?

I am unsure about Tateyama station ; however we stayed at Toyoma when visiting the Alpine route a few years ago. The hotel we stayed was just in front of the station, very convenient for the trip the next morning.
