from haneda airport to kayabacho station 2014/7/8 01:48
Hi,

will be arriving tokyo via Haneda airport, and looking to stay over at Sotetsu Fresa Inn Nihombashi KAYABACHO‏. Understand that the nearest train station will be Kayabacho. Will like to check if anyone will be able to advise what is the easiest way to travel from Haneda airport to Kayabacho?

And also, am looking at travelling to Hakkone the next day. Is it advisable to travel from Kayabacho station to either Tokyo station or Shinagawa station for the bullet train services?

Thank you!

Use Hyperdia for the best route to Kayabacho from the airport. Kayabacho is quite close to Tokyo Station, so you should head there to get the Shinkansen

When in a day is your flight scheduled?
Which area(s) in Hakone Town will you visit?
How is the rest of your itinerary?

[From HND International Terminal to the hotel]

If you come during a late or very early hour, you may have to take another route.
The route shown below sounds easy with one simple transfer until Kayabacho Station.
: The whole route to the hotel may require about 45 minutes to 1 hour.
: In HND International Terminal, also Tokyo Monorail has a station. You can follow signs for Keikyu.
: I recommend using an IC transpiration card for the railroad part until Kayabacho Station. (A PASMO Card is available in the Keikyu Station, just outside the ticket gate.) If you have never used one, please check "Basic Use" of this article.

: The railroad fares are about 700 yen per adult in total.
: Trains from the Keikyu station run in multiple directions. Please feel free to ask a Keikyu attendant which train should run to Nihombashi.

Sotetsu Fresa Inn Nihombashi Kayabacho.

(#) From the elevator exit of Kayabacho Station to Fresa Inn
1. Make a U-turn, then cross a road at the nearby crossroad.
2. Turn right, proceed, then cross a road via the next crosswalk.
3. Turn left, then proceed for about 50 meters.
4. Fresa Inn is found on the right.

[From the hotel to Hakone]

"Shinkansen" is the general term for JR super-express lines, trains and train services.
The phrase "bullet train" is almost never found in official signs or announcements in Shinkansen stations or trains.

Hakone Town cannot be accessed by JR lines. You can use JR to Odawara Station and make a transfer to Hakone Tozan Railway.

You can get to Hakone Town not using Shinkansen, which is worth considering if you travel without Japan Rail Pass.

It is about 1200 meters, 20 minutes to walk from the hotel to Nihombashi Entrance of JR Tokyo Station. If you take a taxi, it is expected to require 5 minutes or so and 730 to 820 yen per car.
Alternatively, you can take a subway train on Tozai Line from Kayabacho (T-11) to (T-09) Otemachi then go up the escalator to Exit 8b, which is close to Nihombashi Gate of JR Tokyo Station. The one-way subway fare is less than 200 yen per adult.

In Tokyo Station of JR, Nihombashi Gate works as both a JR gate and a gate to Tokaido Shinkansen zone of JR-Central. I recommend using Nihombashi Gate because you can avoid mistakenly visiting a gate to another Shinkansen zone, which is for Shinkansen lines of JR-East.

Hi omotenashi,

thank you very much for the very detailed travelling advice.

Anyway i will be arriving at Haneda airport around 330pm, hence i believe the route you have advised will be good.

I will probably be staying over at Ichinoyu Honkon at Hakone.
