WWOOF (or similar) in Japan

Hello Everyone! I would like to spend some time working and travelling more rural areas of Japan. Some time ago, I have been WWOOFing in Spain for two month and participated in ふるさとワークステイ (Workstay in Fukui-Province) for some days.
I would be very interested in your experiences and opinions. How important was language? My 日本語 is far from fluent - one of my goals is to get better.
How long were the working hours? Did you spend alot time with your host people? What kind of work did you do? Any hints how to find a great place - or hosts that are exceptional? Any funny stories that happened on your stay?

Hi, I haven't experienced WWOOF as myself, and you might have already found information you need... This site might help you (sorry if knew it already): http://www.reddit.com/r/japan/comments/1usmby/thinking_about_wwoofing_...As a part-time farmer living in rural area, I would say, not many Japanese farmers can speak English indeed... I found this WWOOF recently and I also want to join the program sometime, in Japan or overseas. Good luck for you:)
