Shinkansen Connection Time

I'm planning to travel from Maibara to Himeji using Shinkansen. Hyperdia shows that most trains require a change at Shin-Osaka or Kyoto with only 4 minutes connection time. The platforms in Kyoto are adjacent (13 and 14). Is this actually enough time to make a connection?

Yes, that shouldn't be a problem, I have had less connection time in the past and easily made it. Typically, if the tickets or Hyperdia show just a few minutes as connection time, it means just going from one side of the platform to the other (although you always should check before boarding the other train that it is the right one.)
