Any cheap rental car? 2014/7/24 08:36
Normal car rental is quite expensive even the smallest types. I drove at New Zealand before with bigger car and cheaper rate.
In Japan it starts like 8000 yen for one day for everything.

I see that it's 4000 for a small company but it's only Japanese language.

Do u have any company with English website that is cheap or easy Japanese website?

Thanks

Tocoo let's you rent with Japanese companies in English at a discounted rate. Not very cheap, but easy to navigate and rent.

Yes, rental cars are relatively expensive in Japan. Note that Tocoo's best rates are under 5000 yen per day, which is about as cheap as they come, especially for sites with English reservation systems. Note that it tends to be cheaper to rent from outlets near airports.

People are giving you good advice and trying to help.

Why are you replying to them so dismissively/rudely?

Probably not.

Re: Any cheap rental car? 2014/7/28 22:21
There are many small rental car companies that offer relatively cheaper than the big companies, but some of them do not allow international driving permit to rent, only Japanese driver's license. So when you find the cheapest one, check it before you book.

However, be careful with cheap small rental car companies that most people have never heard of. I don't have any experience them (I only rent from big companies like Toyota and Nissan) but I have heard a number of horror stories.

Tocoo is in English. I have used it several times. It is a little cumbersome but you can figure it out. Not cheap but not so expensive ever.

That's my experience also.
I don't mind paying them a small commission, since they've developed an interface that both consolidates lots of different hire co's and translates it into English for you.
They're also really good for peace of mind if e.g. you need a child or infant seat.

It was listed under their special offers. Not sure if it fits your itinerary, but here's the direct link:
