Week starting in komatsu

Hi! I will be in Japan for 1 week beginning August 9th and am looking to see gorgeous mountains, water etc! I will fly into Komatsu and probably stay for a day or two around there, but then can go anywhere (on a budget) and fly out of Osaka a week later! I've been doing research, and come accross some incredible sites, but not necessarily within close distance to where ill be. Any advice would be wonderful! does anyone know whether going to the Jigokudani monkey park will still be awesome in August? same goes for the Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route...
