Sanja Matsuri Tokyo 2014/7/30 21:43
Hello,
I plan to be in Tokyo the 16th and 17th of May 2015. I saw on Japanguide.com that there is the "Sanja Matsuri" and "Kanda Matsuri" on these dates.
- In your opinion, which one is the best?
- If we reach the festival on saturday around 15h30 - 16h00 is there still things to see?
Thanks in advance for your always precious answer.

"Kanda Matsuri" will be held every two years. The year 2015 is the Matsuri year. So I recommend you to visit Kanda Matsuri first then Sanjya Matsuri.

The Kanda Matsuri schedule is strictly managed by the committee. So you should get the schedule plan first on Internet or at the venue, otherwise you will never know where "Mikoshi" moves around. "Mikoshi" normally runs until 18:00 on Sat(starts around 15:00) and 17:00 on Sun(stats around 14:30). The "Mikoshi" routes may vary each year and dates(due to traffic reasons).
