Lake Kawaguchiko to Osaka

We will be travelling from Lake Kawaguchiko to Osaka towards the end of December.
What is the quickest route to take via public transport (bus/train)?
After reading a few threads, looks like Mishima Station is the stop to get on at.
We will have the Japan Rail Pass.

Bus to Mishima and get the Shinkansen, it doesn't get much easier than that :)
