May I ask if it is feasible to make a day trip to Shirakawago from Tokyo?
I used Hyperdia to search and found that the duration of train journey from Tokyo to Shirakawa is 97min about 1.5hr.
I am unsure if Shirakawa is the same as Shirakawago.

Spend the night in Takayama, and travel to Shirakawa-go on the coach, you won't regret it, promise.
