Hello Eric The website provides the guide for places to view Fuji-san here: http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e2014_when.htmlBasically, Mt Fuji has 2 main sightseeing areas, which are situated at the different side of the mountain: Hakone & Fujigoko (Fuji Five Lakes) Both have great view of Fuji-san, IMO, if the weather permits. I went to Hakone during spring and Fujigoko during autumn. In Hakone, we got the view on the sightseeing boat and the cablecar/ropeway as part of the Hakone Round Course http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e5210.htmlFor Fujigoko, we stayed in Inn Fujitomita that is situated at the mountain itself and had great view of it in the morning. The train trip from Odawara also offers great views. What do you mean by Shizuoka? Based on my understanding, Shizuoka is the prefecture in which Mt Fuji and Hakone are situated. Hope it helps

Hakone Town is in Kanagawa Prefecture. Mt. Fuji stretches over Shizuoka and Yamanashi Prefectures. seigi no hikari : The website provides the guide for places to view Fuji-san here:: What do you mean by Shizuoka? The first hyperlink is to anther webpage. A correct one is here. http://www.japan-guide.com/e/e6933.htmlI have the same question: What do you mean by Shizuoka? ("Shizuoka" may refer to Shizuoka City or Shizuoka Prefecture.)
