Re: buses for Todaiji Temple from Kintetsu-nara 2014/8/21 00:14
Will you visit only Todaiji Temple in your Nara trip?

I will go to Todaiji temple in Nara from Kintetsu station by bus, can I use Kintetsu rail pass?
And can I use Kintetsu rail pass with those bus

You are asking the same thing in these questions, right?
The answer is no; you can confirm it in this Kintetsu webpage.
http://www.kintetsu.co.jp/foreign/english/useful/ticket/rpw1-krpw.html

Bus lines which you will use in this trip are operated by Nara Kotsu.
Buses runs to a bus stop around Daibutsuden crossing, but they do not run directly to Todaiji Temple.
"Daibutsudenh means Great Buddha Hall (of Todaiji Temple), but it is still about 550 meters to walk from the crossing to the hall.
(IC transportation cards issued in another region (such as Suica Cards or PASMO Cards) cannot be used on these bus lines.)

Tomsh: Kintetsu-Nara is underground station.

Yes, the platforms of Kintetsu-nara Station are under the ground on B2F.
The bus terminal is on the ground, around Kintetsu-nara Station.
http://www.kintetsu.co.jp/foreign/english/useful/about_stations/3-4-na...
You can go up from the platform on B2F to the concourse on B1F, pass through West Gate, turn right, proceed a little, go up via s staircase on the right to the ground, turn around counterclockwise and soon find Bus Stop No. 1.

And which number of bus to go to this temple
no 1,2 ,right?

You will see numbers for bus stops in the bus terminal, and numbers for bus lines.

From Kintetsu-nara Station Bus Stop No. 1, you can take a bus on Bus Line No. 2 for 5 minutes or less to Daibutsuden-Kasuga-taisha-mae bus stop.
Getting off the bus there, you can turn back (to the north) a little along the road to the nearby Daibutsuden crossing.
This north-south road leads to Todaiji Temple.
(Across the east-west road you may see some deer in Nara Park.)
You will pass through Nandaimon Gate on the way.

If you go back to Kintetsu-nara Station after visiting Todaiji Temple, I recommend you would check the bus stop before heading to Todaiji Temple.
At Daibutsuden crossing you can cross the north-south road to the west.
Then you can soon find the bus stop (Todaiji-Daibutsuden - Kokuristu-hakubutsukan).
You can take a bus on Bus Line No. 1 (not No. 2) to Kintetsu-nara Station Bus Terminal.

(Around Daibutsuden crossing are three bus stops of similar names; each of them is a one-way bus stop, which is used only by buses running in one direction.)
