Getting Around Mount Fuji 2014/8/21 18:40
Hello guys,

I will be visiting Fujisan on 19 Nov 14 and I've browsed through the net and found 2 round trip ticket to get there and around.
1. Fujigoko Enjoy Ticket (4350 yen)
2.Mt.Fuji Round Trip Ticket served by JR East (5600 yen)

Actually, all I need is just :
1. Round trip Shinjuku/Mt. Fuji
2. Access to FujiQ Highland
3. Getting around Mt. Fuji summit (including kachi2 ropeway)

And IF, I wanted to go to Hakone & Gotemba, will this ticket cover those area too?

Any suggestion?

1 day !!!???
The two tickets:
Fujigoko Enjoy Ticket allows you to go to kawaguchiko however you cant go to mt fuji summit. You will need to buy another round trip bus ticket (2100yen)
JR east will allow you to go to fuji highland, kawaguchiko and mt fuji summit.
Well I suppose it can be done but you will be very rushed ! here is what it would look like.
Depending on how long you want to stay at fuji q highland.

1)Train from shinjuku to fuji highland early so you can go on the rides with less waiting time.
2)Fuji highland to kawaguchiko
3)Kawaguchiko to mt fuji 5th station and spend sometime there
4)mt fuji back to kawaguchiko from here you need to take the retro bus, since you're only going to go to the ropeway don't buy a daypass. This maybe around sunset so if you're lucky and it's a clear day you can take good pictures.
5)Go back to kawaguchiko by retro bus.
6)Go from kawaguchiko back to otuski. Then from otsuki back to shinjuku.

I wanted to go to Hakone & Gotemba, will this ticket cover those area too?
No these tickets do not let you go to Hakone or Gotemba

Yesss! I was planning to stay there but my brother's dad-in-law come with us,. so I dont think we can go back n forth that freely~ :( I even doubt he would come with us to Mt.Fuji!

And by your explanation regarding JR East, we can go to the summit? we arent going to climb, are we..? /: I thought November is off-climbing season, no?

If i buy either tickets, I think I have roundtrip bus from/to Fujisan -- Shinjuku. Am i right?

Yes both tickets will give you a round trip however you won't get to go to the 5th station without the JR EAST ticket.

I'm sorry I worded that weirdly, no you will not go to the summit, it will be at the base of mt fuji (5th station).
There isn't much to see at the 5th station besides take a few pictures, buy some souvenirs and visit a small shrine.

ahhh!! I see!
Kay! Got it!

So to sum it up, it's better for me to buy the JR East ticket to get to those places (including my itinerary).. (?)

JR East ticket supposed to be sold at Shinjuku Terminal too?

Here are all the passes available:

I've been to the Mt Fuji(and climbed)/Hakone area last month, its really a waste to spend one day there only :(

Hi Kathy, I hope you don't mind me tagging on your thread. =P

We will be visitng in Mount Fuji from Shinjuku with a JR Kanto pass and intend to stayover for a night.

Will this pass able to cover Fuji Highland, Kawaguchiko, Mt Fujii 5th station (Fujinomiya or Fuji Subaru Line), Hakone n Gotemba?

If it doesn't, what other pass do we need?

Don't forget to pay a visit to Chureito Pagoda (http://gaijingojapan.com/chureito-pagoda/). You will have a fantastic view of Mt Fuji if the weather is fine (unlike me unfortunately)
