Can I take train from Osaka to Kusatsu?

Please advise how to take train direct from Osaka to Kusatsu?
We have booked 2 nights at Kusatsu Now Resort. We want to drive around Gunma . Should we change to stay 1 night in town instead? Why is the area to stay? thank u.

There is no direct train. Kusatsu does not even have train access. There is a Kusatsu Station, but it is located in Kusatsu City, Shiga Prefecture, somewhere completely different.

If you want to travel from Osaka to Kusatsu Onsen, you should first travel to Tokyo and then use a bus or a combination of train and bus to get to Kusatsu.

It depends on what you want to see in Gunma; i.e. whether a single base in Kusatsu for two nights would be convenient or staying in two different towns along the way would be more convenient. If you want to see multiple regions of Gunma, staying in two different locations would likely be more efficient.

Thanks for your advise. We would like to stay I night in Kusatsu and 1 night around gunma area. What do you suggest ?
