JR Senseki Line replacement bus?

Hi!

Is there any replacement bus for the disrupted section of the JR Senseki Line?? Haven't been able to find any info about it.

Heading to Ishinomaki on about two weeks from Sendai, and wanted to know if it's possible to take this route as going to Kogota for the Ishinomaki line takes long.

I've done that Ishinomaki-Sendai route through Kogota numerous times. There isn't an alternative and I doubt one will be in the works soon, if at all.

I visited Ishinomaki a few weeks ago from Sendai, I asked at the tourist info, they advised me to use the highway bus (Miyakoh Bus) instead. Quicker, more frequent and since I didn't have JRP yet also a little cheaper (1500 yen for return ticket).

The bus stop at Sendai Station is at Aoba Dori, just in front of the Sakurano departmant store. In Ishinomaki it stops right in front of the railway station.

but now evrey weekday morning and all day evening operate direct Rapid train by JR via Kogota route faster than highway bus.

This Highway bus is not need booking
but seat numbers limited about 45 passengers
and cannot standing like local bus.

Plato, we are going to Ishinomaki early Wednesday 10th Sept in order to get the 9:00 ferry for Tashirojima. We'll be back at Ishinomaki before 5Pm.

My apologies....I always think in terms of having a JRP, so I don't think about bus lines that aren't JRP-valid.

And... about Tashiro-zima(island) notes.
1) Don't bring foods/drinks for cats.(serve,too)
2) Don't enter private (local people)house space(gate in).
3) No convenience store No restraunt not enough drink vending machines.
So must buy your lunch(and more) before ferry ride.
also baggage,too No coin lockers and such service and No toilet island ferry ports.
(at JR Ishinomaki stn best. no ferry port)
4) Touching cats anytime ok but their claws natural too much touching be careful.
5) Islands flat area not a lot not recommend new shoses.
Rent a cycle exist but not near ferry port for staing tourist mainly.
6) Ferry ship not so large cancel sometimes by bad sea wave/wind conditions if fine day.
7) In islands no special events just living many cats than local living people numbers.

Have fun island slow life maybe some JP tourist can speak Eng.


BTW, no travel next weekends in Sendai?
