Tokyo - kyoto - okayama -osaka Jr rail pass?

Hi,
I will be traveling in japan throughout september. I will be arriving in narita airport, spending a few days in tokyo before heading to kyoto, okayama and osaka (in that order) for a total length of 12 days. Would a JR pass be worth it? My itinerary in each city would involve use of local trains but no significantly long side trips are planned.

A 7 Days pass would probably be worth it, but it's impossible to know without a complete itinerary.

If you're returning to Narita for your departing flight, a JR Pass would be worth it.

In that case, no, a JR pass will not likely pay off.

You would need to make the round trip to break even. Instead you'll probably be better off just buying regular tickets.
