harvesting time in Shirakawa-go 2014/8/29 22:55
Im planning for a family trip to Shirakawa-go 3rd week of October, wondering if the rice crops and may be other plants in that area be at harvesting during this time of the year? thank you

3rd week of October is pretty late for rice harvest unless they do things very differently in Shirakawa-go that here in Gunma, but if there are any fruit trees such as kaki or nashi, you might see some on the trees. These generally aren't "harvested" in a big event though, but just picked as needed unless it is a commercial farm.

I don't think you're going to find any. Unless a farmer had a problem, that's typically too late for harvest.
