Hi My flight is arriving New Chitose airport at 21.00 pm , after the check out time, can I have sufficient time to catch up the last train to Sapporo,I have 5 days 4 nights in Hokkaido ,will travel to Otaru and maybe Hakodate but travel mostly in Sapporo, was it worth to purchase JR pass.

It certainly will not pay off for travel around Sapporo and Otaru alone. Only if you do some long-distance traveling, it may pay off. A round trip from Sapporo to Hakodate costs 15,000 yen (with an S-Kippu ticket). This compares to 15,430 yen for a 3-day pass. So, if you do the round trip to Hakodate and some minor train trips around Sapporo within a 3-day period, the 3-day pass will provide you with some minor savings.
