Next week I will be in japan! Yay. Does this seem reasonable? I am aware of lots of traveling and will be doing much of it early in the morning to arrive at sightseeing places when they open. I will have jr pass plus succia & icoca cards.
Sept 7 sun day 0 arrive nrt
Sept 8 mon - day 1 - tokyo to matsumoto day trip
Sept 9 tues - day 2 - tokyo- Tokyo national museum Gokoku ji Ueno park
Sept 10 wed - day 3 - day trip to kamakura (giant buddha) & odawara (castle/museum)
Sept 11 thurs - day 4 nikko day trip
Sept 12 fri - day 5 - osaka baseball game in evening/ nara during day.
Maybe famous food street / osaka castle after baseball game or come back in evening one night from kyoto.
Sept 13 sat - day 6 -kyoto Kinkaku ji Tenryu ji Bamboo forest Nijo castle Heian shrine
Sept 14 sun - day 7- kyoto Kiyomizudera Pottery center Fushiminari
Sept 15 mon - day 8 - kyoto to uji -visit byodo Back to kyoto then onto hikone city - Hikone castle/museum (garden if time) Lake biwa after 1700
Sept 16 tues - day 9 - sekigahara city Return to kyoto - Chion-in or mt. Hiei if time
Sept 17 wed - day 10 - kyoto to nagoya Nagoya castle Tokugawa art museum Inuyama castle
Sept 18 thurs - day 11 - kyoto to himeji Himeji castle Engyo ji Okayama castle
Sept 19 fri - day 12 - hiroshima to miyajima & floating torii
Sept 20 sat - day 13 - morning trip to matsuyama / back to tokyo in afternoon
Sept 21 sun - day 14 - tokyo Ota memorial museum Meiji shrine Return to nrt

I would really recommend to bring down the number of sites, you'll be out of breath most of the time from hurrying from one place to another to really soak up the experience. Visit less, see more, is my motto.
Both Okayama and Nagoya castles are concrete reconstructions and as you are visiting Himeji and Hikone castles as well, I would skip the reconstructions, for instance, and spend some time to sit and watch the Japan of today unfurl in front of your eyes.

Ok I will put those two castles on the (if time list). For sure I would not like to rush at the Tokugawa art museum. Ive already re-adjusted my kyoto section too via a different thread. Any other suggestions?
