I am also spending 2 days in kyoto and was going to see sites in this order via bus/subway. Does it look manageable? Any spots where a taxi would be better? Hotel is 9 min walk to kyoto station. Kyoto day 1 Kinkaku ji Tenryu ji Bamboo forest Nijo castle Heian shrine
Day 2 Kiyomizudera Pottery center Fushi min ari
Thanks

Day 1 is too much for the average traveler. Only if you travel at a fast pace, will you be able to visit all these sites in a single day. They are spread all across the city.
Taxi is best to get from Kinkakuji to Tenryuji (except on busy days when taxis can get stuck in Arashiyama traffic jams)
Randen/Tozai Line is best to get from Arashiyama to Nijo Castle.
Day 2 is doable even at a leisurely pace, although I am not sure which pottery center you are referring to.
