It is about 1.5 kilometers which I consider walking distance. It probably takes about 20-30 minutes. Alternatively, there are buses and taxis. Here is a map: http://goo.gl/maps/TKkLr

if you think going to Fuji station from Shinkansen, change Shinkanse to Tokaido-line at Mishima or Shizuoka.
Or take taxi from Shifuji to Fuji. It might cost less than 1000 yen.

Dear all I appreciate some advice. I will touch down at Narita airport around 6pm. I am unsure how long it takes to clear the immigration before I can hop onto the train to stay at a hotel near Fuji station. Another way would be to stay at a hotel near Chiba station and travel westward the next day. I am thinking since I have spent the first day on flight, then no harm cotinue travelling to Fuji, instead of "wasting" some hours the next day to travel. Any advice is greatly appreciated, please. Thank you.
