Medium-sized taxi bench seat type seems to be 5-seater, but it seems there is little. Up to 4 people only ride is a small taxi.

Yes you are counted as five people. That said, you will probably be able to find a driver who will take you despite it being against the rules.

Woo, wait!! 6 seats (driver+5) car (no minivan and tall wagon type) exist but exactly a few (very small numbers each taxi companies). Ask waiting taxi driver,TIC or hotel front staff. If exist call that one. (some area small "pick up order fee[charge]" plus) 6 seats car calling "Roku-nin-nori[6læ‚è]" in Japanese. This is used taxi[ƒ^ƒNƒV[] sales info. [TOYOTA crown comfort] http://321836.com/cardetail.php?id=492Bench type front seats driver +2 ride. Regular 5 seats car using separate seat driver's and side(navi). http://toyota.jp/comfort/001_b_013/interior_exterior/guest/

It is possible in a regular taxi, but the implication would be that the 5 year old would either sit on someone's lap or the kids are small enough that they would all fit in the back with one of the adults.

And to be clear, you are supposed to be wearing seatbelts and the driver may refuse to take that many people. Be prepared to take two taxis if necessary.

I think most taxi drivers would refuse five passengers, simply because they don't want to get in trouble by breaking the law.

5 adults yes, but when small children are involved I've found that most drivers will take you. So my advice is that you can ask, but be prepared to split up if they refuse. That means both adults should know what the next destination is and which kid(s) to grab before getting into the taxi.

a child is counted as two thirds of adult. (2/3)x3=2. three children is two adults. therefore, 3children+2adults+1driver = 5. NO problem.
