I cannot be sure, but I would say that given it is an international Mastercard any post office or 7-11 ATMs would accept it. Qantas wouldn't allow you to load Yen on the card without it being usable overseas (and someone would have caught onto this by now and complained, hopefully).
I am hoping to use my QantasCash card when I go over in November, so let me know how you go!

That's what I've found from my searches. It's just the "cannot be sure" bit that I'd like to eliminate!

JP/7-11 is basically it, besides the occasional international ATM.
If you're still in Australia though I'd recommend checking out the Citibank Plus Account, they use the Visa daily exchange rate with no other fees for overseas withdrawal, best friend an Australian overseas can have.
