Ueno to Kusatsu by train/bus 2014/9/18 18:15
HI there,

Understand that i have to take train from Ueno to Naganohara-kusatsuguchi then take a bus to kusatsu.

Is it better to get the reserved seat?
Is this the cheapest way to travel? or is there any pass available?

Please advise.

Thank you.

I would get the Kanto Rail Pass and take the direct Limited Express. You can also take the the Shinkansen as far as Takasaki.

Use the Kanto Rail Pass, i can take shinkansen to Takasak & then take a local train to Naganohara-Kusatsuguchi Station. From there, i have to take another JR bus to Kusatsu.

Anyone knows how much does it cost to take local train from Takasak to Naganohara-Kusatsuguchi Station?

Please advise whether am i correct?

Thank you.

The Kanto pass also covers the local train from Takasaki to Naganohara-Kusatsuguchi.
