Hi,
I wonder if the evergreens in Amanohashidate would become barren during autumn? I know it's not an autumn spot but would it be worth visiting during autumn period compared to Miyajima?
Cheers

I found a website with images of the four seasons at the three great views of Japan. The three great views are Miyajima, Amanohashidate, and Matsushima. Here is the Link: http://www.tsunagujapan.com/learn-about-japans-seasons-through-the-fam...Since you are thinking about Miyajima and Amanohashidate, look at the fall images of both places. I believe that the sand bar at Amanohashidate is covered with pine trees, but the hillsides on either side of the sand bar will show fall colors.

ebaychucky thanks so much for the link. it's definitely a helpful sight. Amanohashidate looks spectacular during winter. i think i'll settle for Miyajima this autumn as it's also listed as one of koyo spot here in Japan Guide
... yess that's what i thought too :D just want to reconfirm. poor me coming from a tropical country where all the trees are green the whole year round
