Driving in the Kii peninsula in December 2014/9/21 06:37
At the beginning of December 2014 I plan to drive from Matsusaka along the coast to Kushimoto and then to Kumano Hongu along routes 43, 45 and 44. Are these routes passable at that time of the year? When does the snow season starts in the Kii peninsula?

This part of Japan generally rarely gets snow in winter except in the higher elevations. However, the specific minor roads that you list (43, 44, 45) look dangerous to drive at any time of the year. I strongly recommend to stick to the major roads!
