I will probably reach Koyasan around 1pm. May I ask if there are eateries at Koyasan main street for a simple and reasonably priced lunch? What is the estimate cost? Are the food mainly vegetarian? Otherwise I may have to consider buying bento before reaching Koyasan. Thank you.

There are plenty of nonvegetarian restuarants in the center of mt. Koya. The price is almost the same as in the rest of Japan. No need to buy a bento and carry it with you.
But I suggest to try monks' delicious cuisine if you have a chance (it is vegan, not vegetarian)

Thanks for your advice. I will be staying in one of the temples that will provide dinner & breakfast. Thus I have to source for my lunch before checking in. Thank you.
