Shikoku in Mid Jul 15 2014/9/26 01:38
Hi, I'm planning a round loop trip to Shikoku in mid Jul 15. I need advice as I am not sure the break for stop/night is doable.

Day 1 Arrive Takamatsu (Garden & Yasmin)
Day 2 Takamatsu (rent car) - Utazu - Marugame - Imabari
Day 3 Imabari - Matsuyama
Day 4 Matsuyama
Day 5 Matsuyama - Uchiko - Uwajima
Day 6 Uwajima - Tatsukushi Coast - Cape Azhizuri - Shimanto
Day 7 Shimanto - Kochi
Day 8 Kochi- Muroto - Hiwasa - Tokushima
Day 9 Tokushima - Naruto - Tokushima
Day 10 Tokushima - Iya valley - Kotohira
Day 11 Kotohira - Takamatsu
Day 12 Takamatsu - Naoshima or Shodoshima
Day 13 Takamatsu - Home

Thank you.

I think that's Kotohira route order, second day is good.

Although you did not ask for advice, here is one bit: Always carry at least two wash cloths or something similar for wiping sweat. It will be very humid, every day.

Never seen someone with about a 2 week plan for Shikoku - it looks like it'll be quite a journey.
If you're interested in castles, aside from Matsuyama and Imabari there is a nice one in Ozu, not to mention Kochi, and in Uwajima. Also in Uwajima is a rather unknown phallus shrine, Taga Jinja:

Also in Kochi is one of the 3 best limestone caves, Ryugado. It's much narrower than others, but quite a nice place to visit (not too far from Tosa-Yamada Stn).
By far one of the best places in Shikoku though is Kotohira - the Konpirasan shrine is really a treat - not just the place itself or the mountaintop view but the whole journey going up is an adventure:

Be sure to try the Sanuki Udon while in Kagawa.
It's too bad you're not going a month later to see the Awa-Odori in Tokushima...

With a car, it looks like a very doable plan. Shikoku is great. It's a great itinerary!
