Skiing at Shiga-kogen

We are planning for a trip to Japan in early December. However I can not find any information about the openning day of 2014-15 skii season at Shiga-kogen. We already booked a ryokan at Yudanaka-onsen in december,10 so out plan is to go skiing at december,11. is that a good plan? also, do we need to make a reservation for the rental of skii equipment as we will not staying at the skii resort. any place recommend for the rental or should we just looking for them as we arrive at Shiga-kogen? Thank you

In the past they've typically opened in late November, so assuming this is a typical year then Dec 11 should be fine.
You don't need to reserve ski gear in advance. Just look for rental outlets once you arrive.
