Help with 11 day Itinerary to Kansai region 2014/10/1 20:31
Hi all

we are travelling to Japan at the start of November for an 11 night trip and have come up with the following rough itinerary. Would be grateful for any comments. We thought that we would spend the first few nights in Kyoto, then move around for a couple of nights and then spend the last part of the trip in Osaka as a base for a bit more relaxation and nightlife and to stay in a nicer affordable hotel haha

Itinerary as follows
3 nights in Kyoto (General exploring, maybe a daytrip to Hikone)
1 night in Nara (Nara Park, Todaiji Temple etc)
1 night in Iga – Ninja Museum
6 nights in Osaka – (Osaka Castle, general exploring, possible daytrips to Hiroshima and Koya-San)

One thing we could do with advice on is transportation.
• I think that maybe buying a Icoca and haruka package would cover airport transfers and the card you get would probably be easily used for all the other travel in the region
• For mt koya there is a world heritage ticket from Osaka
• For other day trips should we just buy a return ticket on the day? Is it worth getting any other passes?

Many thanks in advance

A 4-day Sanyo pass might pay off if you use it for the Osaka-Hiroshima round-trip and some other trips in the remaining 3 days.
