Karatsu - Fukuoka transport at night

Me and my girlfriend will be visiting the Karatsu Kunchi festival on the 2nd of November. We will have to spend the night in Fukuoka though, as there was no available accommodation in Karatsu itself.
The last train for Fukuoka seems to leave at 10pm, while we would like to stay a little bit longer in Karatsu.
Would it be possible to take a night bus from Karatsu to Fukuoka (airport?).
And if so, would reservations be needed?

Karatsu-Fukuoka quite not long distance as operating night bus.
Also FUK not 24hrs open/flights airport.
Book in Karatsu or near town hotel.
No rent a car plan?
