Cupnoodles Musuem 2014/10/3 02:09
Hi,

Is it worth going to the Cup of Noodles Musuem? Is there just one or two? I know there is one where you can make your own instant noodle but I heard this is aimed more for kids. Are adults allowed to go?

I also heard the musuem is out of the way and in the middle of nowhere and nothing special. Can anyone confirm?

Thanks

Hi
I intend to visit the Cup Noodles Museum in Nov too.
There are 2 such museum, one in Osaka and another in Yokohama.
The former is accessible by private rail and requires no admission fee. The latter is accessible by a JR train and requires a 500Y admission fee.
There are 2 types of activities available in both museum - chicken ramen factory and make a cup noodle.
For the chicken ramen factory, one pays 500Y and work with another (thus sign up in pairs is recommended) to knead flour etc and make ramen = noodles. You have to sign up beforehand and pay when you reach the site.
The second activity requires you to buy a cup at site for 300Y, then you decorate the cup (by drawing etc). You choose the ingredients that go into your cup noodles. Later it will be sealed for you to bring home.
I have chosen Yokohama for its accessibility and signed up for the Chicken Ramen factory.

Do you think the chicken ramen factory is suitable for adults? I think the Osaka one is aimed at kids. I personally don't care either way but I don't want to be denied entry to participate.

All the activities are suitable for young and old.
For young, I meant at least primary school above.
My teenage and I look forward to visiting the museum in Yokohama.

I've only visited one of the two - the museum in Yokohama. I wouldn't exactly say it's out of the way; Yokohama has lots to see/do so the Cupnoodles Museum - along with a couple of other attractions - could make for a nice day trip from central Tōkyō.

And yes, as Jas pointed out, adults are more than welcome to participate.

Here's a post describing my visit to Yokohama, including the museum:

Cheers.
