Hoeizan trail in june

I will be in Japan from 8-18 of June. I like to go hiking, but I understand mt. Fuji is not possible in that time of year. Is the hoeizan trail possible in that time of year or is it beter to go hiking in the area around mt. Fuji?

Yes, the trail to Hoeizan should be snow free and passable. I enjoyed it quite a bit.
