Transportation in Mount Fuji

Hi,

My plan was to do a 2-days/1 night in Mount Fuji. We were unable to get a hotel near to Gotemba station / Fuji. So, we ended staying at Mishima station.

It took 1.5 hours from Mishima to Kawaguchigo station by bus. It takes 3 hours round trip to/fro Mishima. And the bus schedule is limited to Mishima.

Any other ways to cut the travelling times for the 2 days/1 night trip? Or is it better to do just a day trip from Tokyo.

Would you consider staying in Kawaguchiko? There are many ryokans with views of Mt Fuji and Lake Kawaguchi.

Agree. many accomodation in kawaguchiko offers transport to and fro from the station and its a picturesque place

Thanks. Was thinking Gotemba is in between location so that we can travel back to Mishima to catch the bullet train back.
We got one booked at Kawaguchiko now.

On the bus between Kawaguchiko/Gotemba/Mishima, the schedule showed some has a stop at Gotemba and then like some time later, there is another bus departs from Gotema. Are we allow to connect the buses at different timings with the same bus ticket?
