Takkyubin operating during xmas/new years?

Hi All,
I want to send my two luggages from Tokyo to Kyoto and then back again for the return trip. I'm going to Kyoto on Dec 29 and returning to Tokyo on Jan 4.
Is Takkybin service working during this holiday period?
If they are, when should I send the luggage? The day before? The day of?
