JR Takaoka - luggage storage

Hi,
we are planning to make a day trip to Shirakawa on the kaetsuno bus. Can we store our luggage at JR Takaoka station, as we will collect it later in the evening and travel on to Tateyama station.
If not at the station are there any luggage storage facilities nearby?
