One day in Nikko 2014/10/15 14:11
I planned to visit Nikko for one day trip from Tokyo, my starting point is Tobu-Nikko Station.

My plan is to take a bus to Omotesando Station to visit Toshogu Shrine and I would like to go to Kegon Waterfall.

May I ask for any advice how can I get there from Omotesando Station, how long does it take, any suggested pass for my trip please kindly advise.

And kindly advise how can I get back to Tobu-Nikko Station from Kegon Waterfall, thanks.

From Tobu Nikko station, take the Tobu bus bound for Chuzenji Onsen (or Yumoto Onsen), get off at to Shinkyo Bridge or Nishisando bus stop, and walk to the temple area. It's an uphill walk. On the way back, board the bus bound for Chuzenji Onsen bus at the same bus stop.

Kegon Waterfall is walking distance from Chuzenji Onsen bus terminal.

Time tables are posted at the bus stops. The buses have announcements in English.

If you have the All Nikko Pass, the bus to Chujenzi Onsen is included in the price. Otherwise there's a 2-day pass for unlimited bus rides between Nikko and Lake Chuzenji available for 2000 yen at Tobu Nikko Station.
