Ryokan recommendation in Hakone 2014/10/16 17:32
Hi,

Does anyone have a recommendation for a Ryokan in Hakone?
I am looking for a place with nice evening meal and private bath ^^.
The area looks rather large on the map. Where would be a good place to stay which allows visiting Hakone and also do some hiking?
BTW, I prefer a ryokan with quiet rooms. Some traditional wooden houses look very nice, but you can hear when your neighbor wiggles his toe...

Travel dates are 25.11 - 27.11, so maybe I can still enjoy autumn foliage there?

We really enjoyed Lalaca at Gora, we stayed 4 nights. It has a private bath, huge rooms (especially the japanese/western rooms which have their own bathroom, the others have a washroom) and the food is excellent. It is much nicer than it looks from the website. http://lalaca.com/English.html

I didnt find that part of Hakone great for walks, it was too steep. But it is just near the cablecar to take you to the ropeway, so it is handy.

There are some Ryoka Spots in Hakone area like a Hakone Yumoto, Goura etc.
I recommend you to decide which area will stay first and search prefer Ryokan.
