Sara udon or champon in Nagasaki 2014/10/22 12:39
Hi
Any popular eatery serving sara udon or champon near Nagasaki Peace Park?
What about at JR Nagasaki Station or Nagasaki Chinatown?
Thank you.

I am currently doing research for my own trip to Nagasaki as well and this is what showed up on Google:

I ate champon in a small street right across the station. I remember the street had some lampoons. Shouldn't be too hard to find it

You will see a restaurant that dispays Champon in the window, if you walk around a bit. Also there are Ringer Hut chain restaurants.

Thanks all for the replies.
Hi amazinga,
Is sara udon the same as champon?
I read that the chain Ringer hut offers champon too. Would champon be written in English or Japanese character? I can't read the latter.
Thank you.

1. search google images for both sara udon and champon.
2. decide which one you'd like to try.
3. look in the showcase outside the restaurant to see if they have a replica of your desired item.
4. order it.

Sara udon noodle is fried crisp and seafood, stir fried cabbage, etc. in thickened source is poured over. Chanpon has straight ramen noodle(like Kyushu ramen, not typical wavy instant or regular ramen type) but fatter than spaghetti noodle) in soup with seafood, cabbage, corn, etc. Just delicious.
I much prefer Chanpon over sara udon and even over tonkotsu Kyushu ramen sometimes.
Similar to chanpon is called Gomoku-soba in other areas. Gomoku means 5 different ingredients. They are good, too.

Thanks.
