Osaka vs Universal

Hi,

Is Osaka castle is far away from Universal Studio? We aren't sure if we stay in Universal hotel will it convenient for us to see sight seeing around Osaka (like Osaka Castle/ Shitennoji Temple/ shopping.

Universal City to Osaka Castle is a little bit of a distance but easy to get to. From Universal City train station of the JR you take a train to Nishi-Kujo then take an Osaka Loop Line train clockwise to Osaka-jo-koen station. Allow 30 minutes to make the trip. The fare is 190 yen.

A few trains from Universal City continue on to the loop, with no change of trains necessary.

From Nishi-kujo the Osaka Loop Line runs around the city, with plenty of connections to subways and other trains so that you can get around easily. Also from Nishi-kujo you can pick up the Hanshin Railway line to the south part of town and Osaka's famous Dotonbori district.

you can easily go Kyoto, Nara, Kobe, Himeji, etc with a few times transfer.

Thanks for the tips. I will stay in Osaka for sight seeing and spend one day at Universal that probably better and more convenient.
