Hello, I'm planning to travel to Nikko from Tokyo on Saturday, Nov 22, 2014 for a day trip. I plan to be in Nikko by 9:30am (Tobu Limited Express). Questions: 1. I understand the Nov 21-23 is a holiday weekend in Japan. I plan to buy the All-day Nikko pass when I arrive at Narita. Should I buy it in advance? 2. Here is my itinerary: 9:00am: arrive at Nikko 9:30-noon: Kegon Fall, Lake Chuzenji cruise noon-5pm: Tokugawa Shrine, Tamozawa 5pm: return to Tokyo Is it doable? Any suggestions? How crowded Nikko during the November holiday?
Thanks in advance, Paul

I understand the Nov 21-23 is a holiday weekend in Japan. The holiday weekend is November 22-24. I plan to buy the All-day Nikko pass when I arrive at Narita. Can you buy it in Narita? I don't think so. It is most easily purchased at Tobu Asakusa Station. I have never understood the advantage of advance reservations. I don't recommend them. Is it doable?Only if you travel at a relatively fast pace. I also recommend to research bus and boat cruise timetables in advance: http://www1.ocn.ne.jp/~chukisen/timetabl.htmlhttp://www.tobu-bus.com/pc/area/pdf/nikko_timetable_201404.pdfHow crowded Nikko during the November holiday? The autumn color season will have ended, so I don't expect it to be excessively busy.

Hi Uji, Thank you very much for you quick response! I understand I can also buy the Nikko pass at the Travel Information Center in Tokyo Station which is near my hotel.
