Has anyone been to both these aquarium 2014/11/4 02:13
As the title says, have you been to both of these aquarium, AQUA WORLD Ibaraki Prefectural Oarai Aquarium and Aquamarine Fukushima, I have the intention to visit both on the same day, but it's not really possible unless you wake up really early in the morning.

So it deciding between the two.

Why not stay in Mito or Iwaki city? (Iwaki-Yumoto Onsen famous)

If only one "Aquamarine" famous
but depends on exhibitions, shows, attractions and special seasonal events.
Not only permanent exhibitions and shows.
Changing for each seasons every year usual.

This is "2013" ranking Japan wide by travelers.

Aquamarine 2nd AQUA WORLD 5th place not so big different
but "2014" summer ranking no rank in Top 10 both.

BC other aquariums made/opened more interesting/fun spaces.

I was considering stay a bit north next in 2016, but this time I already have all my hotel booked, and have many places to visit arranged, may be i'll visit the aquamarine next time, as it seem very complicated to travel up there using the kanto area pass whiles using the shinkansen and paying the supplement few is kind of expensive.

I will be visiting the Izu Peninsula instead, such a wonderful place, will be going to the Atagawa Tropical & Alligator Garden and Izu Animal Kingdom, and visit some onsen before heading back to tokyo.

There are other places i've arranged, including Shikine-jima island for the famous three onsen, will be staying overnight.

thanks for all your help, those links are very useful, I will look into them for further reference.

Are there many of these aquarium shops located in central tokyo.

Thank

For anyone wanting to make a particularly long journey with an early start, time it for the start of your holiday, before the jet lag wears off. You'll be awake all night anyway and can easily catch the first train in the morning, before the rush hour.

If you are travelling east, (ie. from Europe) you might not sleep for the first week. The positive side to feeling like a zombie, is that you can use the early hours.
