I plan to travel to Japan again after about 2 and a half months after I left.
I was working in Japan but now I'm just going to be a tourist/ visit friends for a few weeks.
Are there any time restrictions on when you can enter the country again?

No, there generally isn't a time restriction for people in your situation, but it could depend on what country you are from. Also in case you weren't aware, you may be able to switch to a tourist visa without having to leave the country.
