i'm intending to take a bus from Rusutsu Resort (where i'll be staying) to Lake Toya ONsen area. It will be one of the days in DEC 15 week.
Can anyone advise if this will be worth the time and bus fare?
What is there to see and do?

As Tan mentioned, its all about Onsen, a ropeway to high elevated mountain for nice view, and ferry ride around the lake.

Well, the lake is nice to look at. It is a sleepy neighborhood. It is nice for after dinner stroll.
In the morning, a walk around the lake is pleasant.
If you are one of those retirees who need a break from city life, this is highly recommended. Or if you just like nature and want to chill out.
If dancing in clubs or out running animals up a mountain is what you consider ENJOYMENT, then this isn't for you.
