Do I need 7 days JR Hokkaido

We plan to make a 7D6N trip around Hokkaido next June.

11/6 new chitose - Noboribetsu
12/6 toya
13/6 otaru
14/6 Furano
15/6 Biei
16/6 Sapporo
17/6 Sapporo - new chitose

Pls advise if this itinerary need any adjustment or improvement?

We will be travelling by public transport. Do we need a 7 day JR Hokkaido or just get a storage IC-card?

Do you mean JR Hokkaido Rail Pass do not cover beyond Tamakomai or Furona/Biei area?

I am confused with the type of tickets available. But would like to have some cost saving if possible.
