Appropriate funeral monetary gift amount

A good friend living in Japan passed away. Please help in suggesting appropriate monetary (koden) gift amount to give. Not able to attend the services.
Also pls. help in suggesting appropriate monetary wedding gift for newlyweds living in Japan (good family friend). Did not attend wedding.

If you are living in Tokyo and Kanto area and able to send or hand by cash, 5,000 Yen for moderate friends(class mates etc), 10,000 Yen for best friends. If you are in Kansai, 3,000 Yen for moderate friends and 5,000 or 10,000 Yen for best friends.
If you are living in overseas, you can send flower or food gift(baked cake or biscuits) later with funeral sympathy message.
