Can i purchase direct ticket from Kanazawa to takayama, yet get away to see around Shirakawa-go in between for 2 hours without buying new ticket?

If this is the case, will the fee different a lot? if i buy direct is 3940 Yen, if i buy separately, how much should i pay? and, is there any place i can store my luggage in Shirakawa?
