Is this sort of "symbol translation" what you mean?

I wanted the translation for "get drunk while there is still wine" because i think it suits me better as i do like a drink :)

Right... So you want to get an English phrase about binge drinking translated word for word (and without concerns for cross-cultural translation) into a language that you don't understand, and get it tattooed on yourself?

Its not about binge drinking. It means have fun today so drink while you've got wine and don't worry about tomorrow when you might want some wine too. I do appreciate the cultural translation which is why I decided to come on to this forum and i do like your "your only young once" as it culturally makes more sense

"Drink while you can" is one thing, but "get drunk when you have wine/when you can" suggests something else, I must say. Those proverb kind phrases, unless due care is taken, tend to be interpreted literally in Japanese, so that people might start grinning reading it.

To express the same sentiment, "live for today"　（今日を生きる） or "live the present/now" （今を生きる）are the only phrases of an abstract level that I can think of.

And by the way, in Japanese, the whole sentence would be written in combination of kanji characters and "hiragana" phonetic letters, as you can see above, so it will be a plain sentence rather than a string of kanji you might see on some Chinese scrolls or something like that.

I believe I gave the translation in my post above.
In Japanese, there is no way to translate the whole phrase only using "symbols," so it comes in a mixture of kanji characters (possibly this is what you mean by symbols?) and hiragana phonetic letters.
