Due to time constrains, would we be able to do the alpine tour in 1 day- assuming we arrive at Narita at 6.25am with only hand luggage

Do you want to return to Tokyo on the same day? Do you travel this year or next year?
If you travel this year, it will be difficult. It takes about four hours from arrival in Narita until you get to Nagano alone. From there it is another 1.5 hours by bus, but you would probably miss the favorable connection. I don't think it would be possible.
If you travel next year, you would be able to take the extended Hokuriku Shinkansen to Toyama. It takes about 4.5 hours from arrival in Narita until arrival in Toyama, but that could be early enough.
