Most scenic drives in Japan

Planning on doing a long driving/camping trip round Japan and looking for recommendations on scenic drives/roads.
Please note I am NOT looking for info. on towns/destinations, rather roads with great views.
Especially seeking recommendations for Tohoku/Hokkaido and Chugoku/Shikoku/Kyushu.
The recommendations can be either short stretches of road or long, or even just a road that has a single amazing viewpoint.
Recommendations on (very) minor roads are especially welcome as I like driving off the beaten track and will definitely not be using motorways.
Thanks!

I can only recommend what I know from watching TV and from reading JG.
Japan romantic road: Wild road that goes between cities. Mountains + Forest
Kumamoto to Beppu via Mount Aso stopping by Kurokawa: Scenic arid land + grasslands with mountains
Nagoya to Tip of Noto peninsular: Mountains + snow mountains + farmland
Kansai to Shikoku: nice inland sea if you like to look at water
I don't remember seeing any scenic rides. Mostly cause I travel on highways, city roads, or shinkansen. Plus i've not been to Tohoku.

In the Chugoku Region: The Hiruzen-Daisen Skyline is a famous driving route (especially in the autumn with the leaves). Kagikake Pass is also around Mount Daisen and is considered to be a nice drive. A drive around the Washuzan Skyline offers views of the Seto Ohashi Bridge. You can drive through the karst landscape of Akiyoshidai. Actually, this is a decent list of the famous Chugoku area's nicest drives: http://www.geocities.jp/dzztg8_d/map/map07.htm

Some of the nice roads I've driven/ridden (750 Honda): -Sapporo to Shikotsu-ko along 453. -Sapporo to Kimobetsu along 230. -Jozankei to Otaru along the "Lake Line." -Otaru to Oshamambe via Kuchan and Niseko. -Aomori to Lake Towada via Hakkoda and Oirase. -Lake Towada Rim Road (454) and 103 up to the pass into Akita-ken. -Bandai Skyline north of Kitakata, Fukushima. -Sado Skyline from Ryotsu to Aikawa. -Norikura Skyline, Nagano (was lucky enough to drive this when buses stopped due to a landslide. It's buses only most of the time). -Matsumoto to Takayama -Coast road around Ashizuri Peninsula, Shikoku -Back roads up to Ishizuchi-san to the Shirasa Lodge, Shikoku (east side). -Yamanami Highway from Yufuin to Aso, Kyushu. -Ride up to Nita Pass on the Shimabara Peninsula, Nagasaki. -Ebino to Ebinokogen, Kirishima (up the north side of the volcanic complex). -Nichinan Coastline, south of Miyazaki. -Yakushima circle road -Nikko to Lake Chuzenji (non-weekend). -Milk Road, Kumamoto (Otsu to Aso) along the rim of the caldera.
I'm sure there many more but these stand out quickly.
